Overview
THE PERFECT INDONESIAN WOODEN BOAT FOR YOUR ECO CRUISING CHOICE
Embarking on Bajau will be a journey in itself. Far from the clichés of eco-tourism, it invites low-impact travelers to explore the stunning Indonesian Archipelago.
Bajau is 90% identical to Bugis, with the primary difference being the cabin setup and a larger dive room. Equipped with four spacious cabins, Bajau accommodates up to 8 guests, making it perfect for small groups of friends or families. The serene atmosphere on board is enhanced by solar-powered energy, and allows to take full advantage of a peaceful and silent anchorage, while reducing our ecological footprint.
The living space has been conceived in an "Open" concept, enabling a panoramic view of the environment and creating the optimal atmosphere for conviviality, pleasure and parties on board. We will be exploring Indonesia’s top cruise destinations, from the renowned Komodo Islands, the remote and untouched Flores Sea and Wakatobi National Park, and the lesser known Banggai Archipelago–home to the Bajau people a.k.a "Sea Nomads". Hop aboard the Bugis and prepare yourself for an adventure of a lifetime!
Key Features
DELECTABLE LOCALLY SOURCED FOOD
Instead of having a fixed meal plan each day, we’ll go to the nearest local market to handpick each meal's ingredients. We won’t have any imported meat on board
The cuisine will be a fusion of Indonesian and Western dishes, served on the table daily to satisfy your 5 senses, prepared by our professionally trained local chef
SPACIOUS SOCIAL AREAS WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS
On the main deck, we offer a spacious, shaded, open-air social and dining area of 30 sqm, perfect for relaxing, dining, enjoying drinks, playing board games, and more.
On the upper deck, there’s a semi-covered 45 sqm space with a bar, plus an open area where guests can practice yoga, unwind, sunbathe, stargaze at night, or even host a party. The choice is yours!
LOW CARBON, LESS GENERATOR, LESS NOISE
We strive to keep our carbon and ecological footprint as low as possible by using solar powered electricity as much as we can when the boat is not navigating.
We'll only turn on the generator when needed so expect a serene ambiance aboard, peaceful sunset drinks, and quiet nights with the sounds of crashing waves to the hull. Check out Our Concept page to learn more about our commitment to sustainability.
WHY WE OPTED FOR NON AIR CONDITIONED CABINS?
Our 4 cabins on the boat are located on the main deck, not below deck. The sea breeze keeps the median temperature on board approximately 3 degrees Celsius cooler than on land. Our Boat's acrhitectural concept prioritizes open areas, allowing guests to connect with the elements. Air-conditioned cabins, in contrast to fan-cooled ones, require quilts, closed doors, and windows, which we find unusual for enjoying the tropics.
Additionally, air-conditioners rely on refrigerant gas and extra fuel from the generator, which contracdicts our commitment to the environment.
ABOARD - CONVENIENCE ACCESS
The boat is designed for guest convenience with three access points for the speedboat: a platform at the back and access from both the left and right sides of the boat for easy boarding. All guest cabins are located on the first deck, directly connected to the restaurant, which features a staircase leading to the upper deck. This layout maximizes comfort and ensures a seamless experience throughout the cruise.
A DEDICATED DIVE ROOM
Our Bajau the dive room is designed specifically for divers and their equipment. This room includes features such as:
•Equipment Storage: Racks or lockers for storing diving gear like tanks, wetsuits, and fins.
•Preparation Area: Space for divers to gear up and prepare before a dive.
•Rinsing Stations: Areas for rinsing off equipment with fresh water.
•Repair Tools: Tools and supplies for maintaining and repairing diving gear.
•Safety Equipment: Access to safety equipment, such as first aid kits and emergency oxygen.

Cabins
The Bajau liveaboard offers two cabin options: two triple cabins and two double twin cabins, all equipped with en-suite bathrooms, providing cozy comfort for our guests. The twin cabins feature two single beds stacked one above the other.
Each triple cabin accommodates two guests, either sharing a double bed or utilizing the upper berth, which is also suitable for a child traveling with family. The windows provide sea view and fresh air. Due to this natural ventilation the cabin doesn’t require air conditioning.
Please note : that the Bajau does not have any air conditioning onboard. Our cabins however are very well-insulated and designed to get plenty of natural light and cooling from its large window.
